Fjord Capital's cofounder has a wide experience in FX markets. He previously worked at Citigroup for many years. As Global Head of Investor Risk Advisory Group for the CitiFX division in London and New York, Laurent Desbois was responsible for advising fund managers on alpha generation and currency risk management. He also led the Group’s FX option sales, and managed a currency investment program for Citigroup in Montreal.

From 1996 to 1997, Laurent Desbois worked for Merrill Lynch in New York. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1996, he headed the foreign currency department for the Caisse de dépot et placement du Québec in Montreal, one of North America’s largest institutional fund managers. He holds a Master’s degree in economics from Université de Montréal and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from McGill University.

Marc Tremblay
Head of Trading

Cofounder of Fjord Capital, as well as Head of Trading and CIO, Marc Tremblay has nearly 20 years experience managing portfolios in financial markets.

During his tenure at the Caisse de dépot et placement du Québec, from 1994 to 2004, he traded money market products, following which he traded G7 currencies. Marc Tremblay began his career at Montreal Trust, where he traded Treasury-bills, eurodollar futures and short-term bonds from 1990 to 1992. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Concordia University.

At Fjord Capital since 2006, Ding Wang has more than 10 years of experience in finance, accounting and international business.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Sichuan University in China, as well as an MBA from HEC in Montreal. He has also completed his training as a Certified General Accountant (CGA).
